Second Blessings is our church resale store operated by an all-volunteer staff. The store, which is located on the corner of Highway 280 East and Church Street, is open on Thursday and Friday from 10 am - 4 pm and Saturday from 10 am -1 pm. During these hours staff receives and sells donated items. All donors receive a receipt to be used for tax purposes.
The store inventory includes a wide variety of items: antiques, furniture, decorative household items, linens, china, kitchen ware, books, jewelry, shoes, and clothing, all in excellent condition.
All proceeds raised by Second Blessings are returned to the church budget to support ministries and mission projects in our community and beyond. Some of the local ministries that Vidalia First UMC supports are Salvation Army, Mercy Ministries, The Refuge, God’s Storehouse, Paul Anderson Youth Home, Rachel's House, Dream Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and many others.
Second Blessings began business on September 30, 2011. Since then, the ministry has raised over $250,000 thanks to the generous donations of church members and friends in the community! More importantly, hundreds of customers have been prayed for and invited to our church services and countless Bibles have been given out to those who visit our store!
As this exciting ministry continues to grows, we welcome and need volunteers to clerk and cashier in the store or clean and price during the week or do both! Store volunteers work a three-hour shift, either 10-1 or 1-4 on Thursday/Friday or 10-1 on Saturday. If you are interested in volunteering please click on the link below to SERVE and we will be in contact with you. Or if you need to arrange a pick up time for large items that you wish to donate, please email us or call the store during store hours at 912-537-9705.
